FONDUE Melt Away - Kuwait City

I kept on reading about this restaurant on so many blogs and all the bloggers had some really nice stuff to say about the food and the interior ..so we decided to give it a try...
But yesterday i was reading a few comments and was shocked that alot of people had negitive comments... so i really wanted to try it out..
Right after work B and i decided to go for it...it looks small from outside but is was really nice inside..i really liked the interiors and its really not necessary for a place to be big or small what matter's for a restaurant is the food and the atmosphere and off course service but the main highlight is the food for me..there are plently of other restaurants which has really small dinning space but is still known for its good food.

we were seated for 2 and immediately we got our menu's..the menu is well designed but they havent added alot of their dishes to it!! our lovely host assisted as well as recommeded us as to what is there and what we would like... so if your there do ask for dessert and drinks which is still not included in their menu...but they had a good variety to choose from coz it took us quite some time to figure out what we would want to have :)

Finally Our order was:
  • Drinks : Orange juice & Pineapple Mango Cocktail ( i dont remember its name)
  • Appetizers: Smoky Shrimps served with sweet & spicy sauce and avacado sauce
  • Fondue : Pizza fondue with chicken toppings ( the chicken toppings included grilled chicken cubes, chicken poppers, chicken sausages, olives & pickled onions and the Bread nuggets)
  • Classic Chocolate Fondue ( the toppings were marshmellows, strawberry drizzled with chocolate sauce, Banana drizzled with honey, rectangular crepe with custard filling and small cake bites)

This picture of the staff is taken by Blushberry... the girl to the extreme right was our waitresses. She was very informative & very friendly...she kept on smiling :)
We were served with drinks and immediately with the appetizer and then Fondue.
We wanted something small as B just had his lunch from home and i was not very hungry but luckily the portions were good enough and not too much to handle!! the drinks were just ok..
Smoky shrimps were half of fried corn and half of fried Shrimps...B really liked the shrimps and so did i...
The Fondue sauces are cheese based and had a good variety of flavors to choose from. We got the Pizza Sauce which had sun dried tomatoes and it was just delicious..complimented very well will all the toppings that we had...

Classic Chocolate Fondue which was a part of the dessert :)

This was what B was waiting for :) we had 3 dips ( white chocolate, galaxy chocolate and dark chocolate) it was yummylicious!! Thumbs up from us :)
Towards the end we got comment cards with the bill.. i love the way they gave us the bill.

This is how B gave our comment cards :)
Overall it was a nice day with good food... The interiors are beautiful, concept is nice, very friendly staff, good atmosphere, and above all good food :) Also the Pricing is resonable for all this we paid around 18.700 KD which is quite good i must say!
we would go again!! but not sit on the same table coz it was a bit wobbly ..hehe..

Au Bon Pain- Avenues Kuwait

Yesterday after work we had planned for Nandos coz my B was craving for it...but plans changed coz my salary didnt come yet..aarrggh!! @_@
So still we decided to sit back & have some coffee at lino's but i wanted something different and so we ended up at Au Bon Pain... which is on top of Dean & deluca.
I first had Au Bon Pain at the US Embassy Open day 2009...its always held in a grand scale and was a blast to be there..i love it !! Off course you cant click photo's coz your mobile's or camera's are not allowed.
They have a nice seating area for smoking and non smoking...beautiful presentation on the counter and a very informative friendly staff all ready to assist you.
I was really hungry and decided to have a sandwich so i ordered what they recommended which was philly steak wrap-new edition and B ordered one regular Caramel Blast.
They have a live station counter top where you can see your sandwiches and wraps being prepared... i always love to see my food being prepared :)
Philly steak wrap was a combo of thinly sliced beef with caramelized onions, Red peppers, white sweet sauce and off course cheese :) and the Caramel Blast was an ice blended coffee topped with whipped cream and was generously drizzled with caramel syrup ..i liked it but B thought it was a bit too strong.
Overall it was nice .. earlier at the open day i had their brownie's which was just yummylicious and their chicken tarragon was nice too...
Plus you have wireless so ask for your username and password if ur interested ..
will go back to try their soup which is served in a bread bowl :) also their kit kat cake :)
