Earlier we had got an inauguration invitation for YO!Sushi for 28th Mar 2010 by Ms. Marwa...
So B and i decided to give it a try and if your a regular reader you would know that this is our first Japanese Cuisine post on our blog :)
Introduction:
YO! Sushi started with its first branch setup in London in 1977 and since then it has grown into a major international restaurant chain. Its a beautiful restaurant with colorful interiors and a conveyor belt where the food is passed on around the table..

There is an open kitchen which i love!! i just love to see my food being prepared...
Once we all settled down they started off with the introduction followed by the Sushi making session with the Head Chef :

CEO : Sami K. Daud
COO : Antonio Bautista
Marketing Director: Marwa Kaabour
Head Chef ( from Dubai branch) : Francis Danganan
After the small speech by COO, CEO and MD it was time for the sushi session
It was a 15 mins session were the chef taught us how to make California rolls and prawn with wasabi ...i love cooking and this was my first sushi preparation experience that too live infront of the chef who must have made like a trillion sushi's in his lifetime...
There was an apron, hand gloves and a hair net on the table with the ingredients and the bamboo sushi roller...it was awesome..i love the feeling of being around chefs..as a kid i use to always be around Chefs coz my mum works in pastry kitchen..so this was different something out of pastry :)

My creation :) my sushi!!!!

The Chef was soo sweet to cut the roll for me and pack it for take away!!

All Set to Eat ...the table has everything like Tissue's, Soy Sauce, Wasabi and Chop sticks..
Their Paper placemat illustrated their 4 steps explaining their dining process :)

Drinks:
- Mango Juice
- Pineapple Juice
Highlights of the evening for us !! we loved these.. :)

- Chicken Gyoza: Pan Fired chicken and vegetable filled dumplings with a light soy- vinegar dipping sauce
- Prawn Katsu : Crispy fried prawns in Japanese bread crumbs with a fruity sauce
- Prawn : cooked Prawn and wasabi
- Spring Roll : Chicken and vegetables with a sweet and chili dipping and salad leaves
- Spicy Chicken Katsu: Cripy Chicken,Katsu sauce and Shichimi Powder.
- Vegetable Yakisoba: Pan fired Japanese noodles in a mildly spiced tangy sauce with vegetables.
I loved the dumplings..ate alot of them :)

Watermelons :) my favourite ..that too it was seedless ..hehe..
Our Least Favourites:

- Soba Wakame and Crabmeat Sticks : Buckweat noodles tossed in a slightly sweet harusame dressing with crabsticks, seaweed & sesame seeds.
- Salmon : 5 silces of scottish salmon with lemon
- Golden Roll : Fresh White crabmeat, cucumber, tamago(sweet egg), crispy lettuce wrapped in soya sheet with golden tobiko
These were nice but just not something that our taste buds liked :) the Soba wakame was too bland and the salmon's flavor was tooo strong and the golden roll had tamago which was something i didnt like...
